Beach Bum

Before Sydney's weather went cray, the Aussie weather gods gave way to a lil bit of sunshine, with thermometers actually rising above 20 degrees. If only for a day. So a friend and I thought what better way to spend the last moderately temperate day than at the beach. We took a ferry across Sydney's harbour up to the north shore to Manly Beach, cruised the shops, ate a delish brekkie and sat on the beach for hours just enjoying the day.

Earlier this month I headed down to Sydney's annual craft and quilt fair, mostly to see my HSC major work on display but also to wander the aisles of stalls selling thousands of fat quarters, foam scrap booking stickers, glass beads and tid-bits of lace. Here's my outfit from the day:

Minkpink Warehouse Sale

Hit up the House of Quirky's warehouse sale yesterday, sorted through millions of racks of clothes, threw boxes around and must've tried on everything they had. This is probably one of my favourite sales each year, and this year did not disappoint!
Racks and racks of clothes
Even more on the floor
My maybe pile. Then my maybe maybe pile.
Sick unicorn denim vest
The days buys.
Clockwise left to right:
Evil Twin crochet maxi with attached mini dress $30
Minkpink floral/polka blouse $5
Staple the Label georgette blazer $5
Minkpink elephant tee $10
Minkpink pleather moto pants $5
Somedays lovin' gold knit $5
Minkpink tropical pants $5
Minkpink black batwing knit $5
Hunt No More print shorts $5

Pretty good deals right?? Most are $5 from the sample/faulty boxes, so some are samples and have nothing wrong with them. Others I found with small years in seams that can be eaaaaasily fixed by the sewing savvy chica ;)

Hey.

Alrighty, first post ever! Hey guys, I’m Paula, eighteen years old and studying fashion design in Sydney, Australia and welcome to my blog. Just a bit of space to post my colourful musings, funky market finds, some budget outfits and a bit of DEE-ai-WYE.

Lets start off with an OOFT (Outfit Of The Day), yes, just learnt the term and excited to use it. Plus it sounds cool if you say it as it is, example: ‘this is my ooft, it’ll make you ooooooft.’

Went to brunch at a new cafĂ© in Ashfield the other day with a friend, and found some sick flowers – don’t they look as though they’ve been tie-dyed?
I want to just, live in one.
